India against. New Zealand: Washington Sundar's Wit after Loss In First T20I: "If You Don't Get Your Favorite Biryani..."

While chasing a respectable 177, India's top three batsmen, including the red-hot Shubman Gill (7), were all out for a combined total of 15 runs in just 19 balls. As a result, the home team was eventually bowled out for 155 runs in 9 innings.

The India all-rounder Washington Sundar has faith in his team's ability to recover from their setback to New Zealand in the first Twenty20 International and win the rest of the three-game series. India's top three batsmen, including the in-form Shubman Gill (7), were bowled for a total of 15 runs in the space of 19 balls as they chased a challenging 177, ultimately leading to their team's collapse to 155 for 9, and New Zealand's first victory of the trip by 21 runs. After India trounced New Zealand 3-0 in the ODI series, a revamped home team led by Hardik Pandya took over for the Twenty20 leg.

Washington, who hit a rapid 50 off just 28 balls and returned with neat figures of 2/22, remarked, "I think it was simply a one-off game." I don't think we need to handle it just because it was spinning so fast. Specifically, the one and only game. Were we to have gotten off to a better or faster start, the outcome would have been very different. It did spin, and wickets like that are not uncommon.

"...everyone around us, including players on our team, have experience playing on such wickets while competing in the IPL and even with the Indian national team. Just that one game where things didn't go our way," he clarified.

To what extent may the inability to order your preferred biryani cause you to discontinue dining at a certain establishment?

A journalist, however, who found his answers to be "unconvincing," pressed on to see whether they should "alter" their top ranking. The child really showed his wittiness and charm this time around.

Do you believe it's necessary to make a change? Will you never return to a place where you can't get your preferred biryani? They've all put in a lot of mileage. There is only one day involved. Even New Zealand, Washington said, "crashed and burned" in the second ODI in Raipur (108 all out in 34.3 overs).

They didn't have to juggle their starting lineup because of it. A lot of unexpected things might occur in this game. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait. It's a sport where it's impossible for both sides to win and for all 22 players to provide their best effort. They've all done really well to get here.

The 23-year-old batsman supported the ineffective left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh (4-0-51) and the up-and-coming fast bowler Umran Malik (one over, 16 runs allowed) during New Zealand's innings.

So many wickets have fallen to him (Arshdeep) for India and the IPL. We're just like you, and we want to enjoy the sport as well. Washington defended his teammate by saying that incidents like that one can occur when the level of competitiveness is really high and the opposition is of top quality.

The way Malik bowled in one-day internationals against Sri Lanka and New Zealand is why everyone is aware of his presence. He has that intangible trait of always bowling above 150, which makes him a special player. Washington continued by praising the team's leadership, which is led by head coach Rahul Dravid.

This administration has a remarkable characteristic in that they are cool under pressure and forgiving of our many missteps. "Moving ahead, we will be a very, very powerful side," he promised.

New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell was lauded for his crucial unbeaten 59 off 30 balls.

They couldn't have won without Daryl's innings. At most, we could have settled for a score of about 150 and been satisfied. But he made up for it by securing a half-century for himself," he said.

On Sunday, Lucknow will host the second Twenty20 International.

The winning team will depart from South Africa on Tuesday for Mumbai before travelling to Ahmedabad on Wednesday for the award ceremony.

At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar will congratulate the Indian U-19 women's cricket team for winning the first ICC U-19 T20 World Cup. Bharat Ratna Shri @sachin rt and @BCCI Office Bearers will felicitate the successful India U19 squad on February 1 at 6:30 PM IST in Narendra Modi Stadium, BCCI secretary Jay Shah tweeted. "The young cricketers have brought honour to India, and we will recognise their accomplishments." India, captained by Shefali Verma, crushed England by seven wickets in the ICC U-19 Women's T20 World Cup final at Potchefstroom, South Africa.

In addition, it is India's first-ever ICC women's cricket championship.

The winning team will depart from South Africa on Tuesday for Mumbai before travelling to Ahmedabad on Wednesday for the award ceremony.

The award presentation will take place here before the decisive third and final T20I between India and New Zealand.

Gautam Gambhir was 'Massively Surprised' by Hardik Pandya's Call In 2nd T20I, saying, "Can't Answer That."

Gautam Gambhir, a former cricketer for India, disagreed with Hardik Pandya's decision to limit Yuzvendra Chahal to just two overs. Instead, Hardik chose to have part-timer Deepak Hooda bowl 4 overs for New Zealand in the second T20I.

Yuzvendra Chahal was added to the playing XI of the Indian cricket side while Umran Malik was replaced for the second Twenty20 International against New Zealand. Chahal, however, only bowled four overs in the game despite being sent in to offer wickets on a "spin-friendly" surface. Former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir said that the decision came as a "huge surprise" when asked about it by captain Hardik Pandya. Even so, Gambhir admitted he "can't answer this question."

"Great surprise. I am unable to respond to this question, especially on a wicket like today. Your top spinner in the T20 format is Chahal. It doesn't make sense to me to only give him two overs to bowl, even if he took the crucial wicket of Finn Allen in those two overs "Gambhir made the comment on Star Sports following the game.

Gambhir concurs that young players like Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Mavi should be given a chance, but he also believes that if Chahal had bowled his entire allotted number of overs, New Zealand would have been dismissed for 80 or 85 runs. It was a "major surprise" that Hardik opted to make Deepak Hooda bowl 4 overs.

"You do want to give young men like Arshdeep Singh or Shivam Mavi another chance. However, you might have bowled Chahal sooner or in the final over as well. I think he missed a trick, therefore. On this type of wicket, you don't want to let the opponent off the hook, and he might have bowled New Zealand for perhaps 80 or 85. Unexpectedly, Chahal wasn't asked to bowl four overs but Hooda was "Gambir stated.

Pakistani Cricketer's Brutal Reaction to Copying 'India Model': "Ek Toh Poori Kare Lein"

When asked if Babar Azam and the company should adopt the Indian model and have two distinct teams for various forms, veteran Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal responded harshly.

Many elite teams have started operating in varied configurations with many squads led by various captains. India has played a variety of different combinations with different leaders across various formats over the past year or two, despite the fact that England and Australia were the first teams to follow the approach. While many current and former cricketers have praised India for creating a large pool of talent, others have criticized them for changing their lineups too frequently. Veteran wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal responded bluntly when asked if Pakistan might have numerous teams, similar to India.

Akmal advised Paktv.tv, "Pehle aap ek toh poori kar lein (First, you need to finish your first team).

The 41-year-old, who last represented Pakistan in 2017, claimed that department cricket's elimination had a detrimental effect on the national team.

"Before 2018–19, you might have created two or three teams. There was the cricket you play at home. In Pakistan, department cricket was quite lucrative. I've played there for years, so I am aware of this. Making even one team is challenging considering that we won it. Fawad Alam wouldn't have made a comeback after so long if having six teams was so advantageous "Added he.

Last year, Pakistan, led by all-format skipper Babar Azam, advanced to the finals of both the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup, but both times fell short of winning the championships.

Additionally, Pakistan lost all eight of its home Test matches last year (P8, W0, L4, D4) and fell to England 0-3 on the route.

R Ashwin's Strong Remark Regarding Sarfaraz Khan's Selection Debate: "He Is Not Caring About..."

Sarfaraz Khan has been pounding on the doors of the Indian cricket squad for a while, but the selectors keep ignoring him.

There were a lot of uproars when India's selection for the first two Test matches against Australia was revealed because Sarfaraz Khan's name was absent. The Mumbai batsman is averaging over 90 runs per game and has amassed over 550 runs in the Ranji Trophy. "Without a doubt, he is on our radar. He will eventually receive what is owed him. We must take into account factors like composition and balance when choosing the team "BCCI selector Sridharan Sharath has stated.

Ravichandran Ashwin, an Indian spinner, recently discussed Sarfaraz Khan's outstanding performance.

"How do I start with this batsman? Khan, Sarfaraz. Whether or whether he ought to be chosen is a hotly contested topic. However, gentlemen, he doesn't care about selection. He ran in 900 races in the 2019–20 season. Another 900 runs, in the 2020–21 season, "said Ashwin.

"He has around 600 runs scored this season. With his bare performances, he has sent a powerful message. In the previous three seasons, he averaged more than 100 and had a high strike rate. Sarfaraz Khan isn't simply banging on the doors of the hiring committee. He incinerated them. But regrettably, he is not now being chosen. He played a fantastic knock for Mumbai against Delhi despite not being chosen, however, Mumbai lost the match."

Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India, criticized the Chetan Sharma-led All India Selection Committee for disregarding Sarfaraz, a batter. Despite Sarfaraz's strong batting performance in the domestic circuit, several present and past cricketers have voiced their dismay at his exclusion from the team.

Gavaskar then backed up the effective batter by advising the selectors to choose models if they want "slim and trim people." "When he scores hundreds of points, he returns to the field instead of staying there. Everything suggests that the man is suitable for cricket. If you're just interested in people who are lean and athletic, you may as well select some models from a fashion show, offer them a bat and ball, and then include them. Cricket players come in a variety of sizes and forms. Consider the runs and wickets rather than the size "India Today quoted Gavaskar.

In contention for the Nagpur Test against India is Peter Handscomb

Handscomb participated in their most recent trip to India in 2017. He also serves as a wicketkeeper, adding to his utilitarian value.

If Cameron Green is unable to recuperate in time for Australia's series opener against India on February 9, head coach and selector Andrew McDonald said that Australia is considering bringing back Peter Handscomb to bat in the middle-order due to his ability to play spin. Seam-bowling all-rounder Green, who is recovering from a damaged finger, is also included in the Test team with Handscomb. According to a remark from McDonald in the Sydney Morning Herald, "He's incredibly essential."

His superb performance against spin has been well-documented throughout time, and we believe he is back to producing at a level that is likely comparable to what he was doing two or three years ago. In order to prepare for the four-Test series that will decide who advances to the World Test Championship Final, Handscomb and Green are both participating in batting workouts on especially "scarified" surfaces at Bon Andrews Oval in North Sydney.

Handscomb participated in their most recent trip to India in 2017. He also serves as a wicketkeeper, adding to his utilitarian value.

"On those slower wickets, Shield cricket also scored a lot of runs. He is also able to keep, giving us every opportunity for Josh (Inglis) to not be present. Additionally, if something were to happen to Alex Carey, there is flexibility there. Close fielders and bat pads, which are highly appreciated while touring the subcontinent, are also options.

"He is a crucial right-hand option in our eyes. We have a large population of left-handers, making the right-hand option crucial. We believe we have some strong choices if there are any last-minute alterations if Cameron Green misses the first Test.

We appreciate Green's hitting more than anything else, McDonald continued. "He's a batsman in our top six and we cherish that, his bowling is a bonus."

"Bowling is his hardest issue right now given where he is. One of the main factors influencing us to this camp and this mode early is the lack of loading there.

He has to see the surgeon once again tomorrow, which is about the four-week mark when he should be given the all-clear that the bone has healed.

I don't want to use medical jargon, but after that, it should essentially simply be building him up and seeing how he does each session.

The coach said, "The most important thing is to build his confidence. Setting him up to succeed in that first Test match and having a good enough time will be the essential question.

Additionally, Australia has injured paceman Mitchell Starc back in training; but, he is expected to be tardy for the tour and the second Test in Delhi.

McDonald also praised Kieran Meurant, curator of the North Sydney Oval, for creating a pitch like those in India.

The surfaces we encountered outside, according to McDonald, "felt quite similar to what we'll see in India, which is really tough to duplicate."

R Ashwin joins Skipper in criticising the broadcaster in "Yet Another Failure for Rohit Sharma Was The Talk."

Following Rohit Sharma's criticism of the announcer for making the comment that it was the "first ODI century in three years," Ravichandran Ashwin reiterated Sharma's thoughts.

Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, expressed his displeasure with the broadcaster of India vs. New Zealand ODI series in no uncertain terms. Following Rohit's 30th century in the format, the announcer made a point of emphasising that it was the seasoned batter's first century in the format in three years. In the press conference held following the game, Rohit voiced his disappointment, claiming the judgement doesn't accurately reflect the circumstances because he had only participated in a few ODIs during that time. Ravichandran Ashwin has since joined Rohit in calling for a more accurate assessment of the "perception."

Rohit was correct, according to Ashwin, to bring up the matter with the broadcaster, arguing that they should be presenting such "facts" in a more responsible manner. The seasoned off-spinner also highlighted Rohit's dominance in the 50-over format, especially his five hundred during the 2019 World Cup.

"As a result, Rohit Sharma suggested that broadcasters handle similar situations more responsibly.

"During the 2019 World Cup, he scored 100 goals straight. He won the ODI World Cup's Player of the Tournament award. There has never been a reason to doubt Rohit Sharma's performance in limited-overs cricket over the past 10 to 15 years, according to Ashwin.

Ashwin said Rohit was right to raise the issue with the broadcaster and argue that they should be handling the presentation of such "facts" in a more responsible manner. Rohit's supremacy in the 50-over format, particularly his five hundred during the 2019 World Cup, was also emphasised by the seasoned off-spinner.

"Rohit Sharma thus recommended that media outlets approach such circumstances with greater responsibility.

"He scored 100 goals in a row at the 2019 World Cup. He received the Player of the Tournament honour at the ODI World Cup. According to Ashwin, there has never been a cause to question Rohit Sharma's performance in limited-overs cricket during the previous 10 to 15 years.

Wasim Akram Talks About Misunderstanding Between India and Pakistan Regarding Asia Cup Venue in "Najam Sethi Gave A Very."

Officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have given contradictory remarks on the question of where the 2023 Asia Cup will be held.

Previous plans called for Pakistan to host the continental competition. The head of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and BCCI secretary Jay Shah recently announced that the Indian cricket team will not be visiting Pakistan to compete in the 2023 Asia Cup. In response, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja cautioned the BCCI that their decision might have major ramifications, including Pakistan possibly withdrawing from the ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in India in 2023.

A meeting of the ACC to consider the matter will take place on February 4 in Bahrain, as announced recently by current PCB chairman Najam Sethi. "There will be a meeting with ACC representatives, and at long last, we have a date for it. On February 4, I will travel to Bahrain for a meeting of the ACC. Our position is still up in the air, therefore I'm holding my cards close to my chest until after the meeting. However, I promise you that it will be for the development of Pakistani cricket "Said Sethi.

Fastest in the region: Pakistan Wasim Akram commended Sethi and poked fun at Raja for their position.

"The response that Najam Sethi provided was quite reasonable. If both governments give their blessing, then anything can happen. When communicating [using boards], you need to use suitable language. It's not a game of gully cricket to say that we won't visit your nation if you don't. I have no idea who these teenagers are that come to Pakistan to take over the cricket league "said (Cricket Pakistan).

Akram also gave his thoughts on the removal of Raja as PCB chairman.

"After staying for a total of six days, he has returned to his home. Experience is something that Najam Sethi possesses in plenty. To have a cricketer as a PCB head is a flawed idea, in my opinion. As with any administrative position, success in this field requires a regular and open dialogue with many bodies. You can trust Najam Sethi to do a good job. To hell with the backlash, "To paraphrase what Akram remarked.

"He did remind me of..." The Verdict on Babar Azam, According to Ricky Ponting

Although Pakistan's Babar Azam won two ICC Awards in 2022, cricket legend and ICC Hall of Famer Ricky Ponting thinks we haven't seen the best of the player yet.

He still has some opportunity to grow and develop, so he's definitely not at his full potential just yet. Babar won the 2022 ICC Awards for both Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year and the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, the main honor for men in cricket.

Ponting, in an interview with The ICC Review, was among the first to sing Babar's praises, praising the Pakistani captain for his textbook batting foundation and adaptability.

Ponting, as reported by ICC, praised his "very good" technical abilities.

As one commentator put it, "He plays spin bowling extremely well, he plays fast bowling pretty well, and he has been able to adapt to varied circumstances throughout the world, which is what distinguishes the great players from the decent ones."

"I have witnessed firsthand how he is able to be dominant in other settings (than the ones you are brought up in)."

"The best players also have formidable mental fortitude. It's easy to see that he's a versatile batter thanks to the way he chooses his games, how long he stays at the crease in Tests, and how he steers the ship in one-dayers. He also has the capacity to switch gears when the game and occasion dictate "Ponting," the commentator said.

All three of Babar's foreign forms make for fantastic reading. Babar scored 1,184 runs in Tests, 679 runs at 85 in ODIs, and 735 runs at a strike rate of 123 in T20Is in 2022, leading his team to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in Australia.

These numbers would be considered the ceiling by some, but Ponting believes there is more to come.

"Most likely, he is not (at his peak). Most hitters reach their peak performance in their early to mid-30s "This is what he had to say, he said.

"You're still practicing and honing your skills up until a certain point. And that's pretty much it for most men. Observe the whereabouts of Steve Smith, (David) Warner, and the like. Steve Smith, like with other early-30s players like Kane Williamson, is perhaps at the peak of his career."

"Given what he's accomplished over the past three to four years in essentially all three forms, the prospect of even more growth from Babar is frightening. Whenever he plays, I get so much joy just watching him. It seems to me that there is an opportunity for improvement; here's hoping that it occurs "pontooned out

Babar's accomplishments are even more impressive given the responsibility that comes with being a captain.

In addition to his massive batting average, Pakistan dominated one-day international play in 2018, winning eight of nine matches and improving their record to 14 victories in 26 games heading into 2022.

Despite taking Pakistan to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup for the second year in a row, Ponting believes there are wrinkles to smooth out on the leadership front. However, Ponting advises Babar to learn from every circumstance he encounters.

"He seemed nervous at the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, especially in that game against India when things were so close. Several of the more seasoned players went up to him, with Shadab Khan, in particular, attempting to calm him down and help him think more clearly "Ponting remarked.

"Of course, that's the nature of the T20 game. Being the T20 squad captain is difficult under any circumstances, but it is extremely challenging when the stakes are high, as they were at that point in the World Cup."

For Ponting, "he will discover the perfect approach to lead and be a very successful captain of Pakistan with a bit more experience under his belt like he is done with his batting."

BCCI Selector Breaks Silence on Sarfaraz Khan's Absence

A BCCI selector has provided an explanation for why Sarfaraz Khan has yet to make his Test debut.

Safaraz Khan's situation has been unusual, given he is now one of the best batters in all of domestic cricket. However, despite his ruthless batting, Sarfaraz is still "in the scheme of things" and not close enough to making India's Test selection. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav were nominated to India's team for the first two Tests against Australia, but the 'run-machine' Sarfaraz wasn't even considered. A selector for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has spoken up as the Indian cricket community continues to speculate over the batter's absence.

When asked about the current state of the Indian batting lineup, National selector Sridharan Sharath brought up Sarfaraz's absence in an interview with Sportstar.

Sharath praised the current squad, including both the established players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and the up-and-coming ones like Cheteshwar Pujara.

"Even now, Kohli can decide close games. Cheteshwar Pujara is a steady presence at the top of the order. It's no secret that Rohit Sharma is a fantastic batsman and a superb leader. Shreyas Iyer always delivers the goods. Both Shubhman Gill and K.L. Rahul had true talent, "This is what he had to say, he explained.

Sharat explained that the decision to leave out the young batter was made for reasons of "composition and balance" when asked about Sarfaraz.

"We are keeping an eye out for him. He'll get his just reward eventually. We need to think about the team's overall balance and composition as we make our final selections "What he had to say was.

Only the team for the first two Tests against Australia has been announced by the selection committee. When the time comes, we'll choose a roster for the last two games. Even if Sarfaraz wasn't chosen for the first two games, he still has a chance to make an impact in the rest of the series.

With "a lot of boys waiting in line," Rohit Sharma says of the competition for spots in India's squad, "it's going to be tough."

Rohit Sharma has stated that the selection of the Indian cricket squad is being done with an eye on the next important events.

Young talent is in abundance for the Indian cricket squad, which has proven an issue. Although Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul weren't able to play in the recently finished ODI series against New Zealand, the two players who did play, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill, left a lasting impression. Rajat Patidar was on the team, but he never really got an opportunity to shine. When asked if he would be included, Rohit Sharma, the team's captain, stated that they were sticking to the plan they had laid out before the World Cup, which means that some players may be left out.

After the third one-day international against New Zealand, Rohit remarked, "If we can find room for him we will get him to play." Kohli is now batting third, and Ishan Kishan is batting fourth (he missed the past series after hitting a double century). Suryakumar Yadav is ranked fifth since everyone is aware of his exploits, followed by Hardik Pandya at number six. We want everyone to have a chance to play, but it requires making room for them.

Considering Indore is his home stadium, people speculated that Patidar might make his debut there. However, Rohit has stated that the squad would make selections with the rest of the tournament schedule in mind.

It's possible that we could have beaten him in Indore, and I'm aware of that. The phrase "let me play, I'm from Ranchi" is something Ishan also uses when he's home in Ranchi. Unfortunately, that's not how it works; instead, we follow predetermined procedures. There will be opportunities for everybody. It's what we've been telling the lads," Rohit said, "but if the chance to play does come along, there are a lot of youngsters waiting in line.

Ben Stokes, captain of England, has been named the ICC's male test cricketer of the year for 2022

Since Ben Stokes became captain of England, the squad has gone 9–0 in Tests.

Ben Stokes' outstanding efforts in 2022 as a whole characterized the year of Test cricket more than any other player, making him the undeniable and rightful recipient of the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year award. The figures show that England's star all-rounder Ben Stokes had a fantastic year in the Test cricket whites. However, results aren't everything, and in 2022, England's form, fortunes, and style were drastically overhauled by Stokes and new head coach Brendon McCullum.

There has been a history of aggressive cricket played by both players and teams. But Stokes has brought new heights to England's exciting and aggressive efforts with the bat, ball, and field.

Since taking over as captain, Stokes has led England to nine victories in 10 Tests. This includes series victories at home against New Zealand and South Africa, a win in the lone postponed Test against India to even the series at 2-2, and a 3-0 thrashing of Pakistan away from home, England's largest margin of victory in a foreign country.

When he was named captain, England had only one victory in their previous 17 Tests and had lost their most recent four series.

To sum up Stokes's year as captain, he was outstanding. He used his fielders and bowlers really well, and he put up some excellent traps. He was also firm and fair when making roster choices, including the addition of new players when necessary and the departure of star performers when circumstances called for it.

Stokes had a productive batting year in 2022, accumulating 870 runs at a 36.25 batting average and a 71.21 strike rate with two hundred.

The 103 he scored in the first innings of the second Test against South Africa was the highest score of his year and gave his side a boost just after they had suffered their lone Test defeat of the English summer.

In addition to his four wickets in that game, Stokes finished the South Africa series with ten dismissals for an average of 15.70.

Despite not having particularly impressive figures in 2022 (26 wickets at 31.19), Stokes used his talents in a variety of tactical ways, placing a premium on effect and team balance over personal statistics.

Under Stokes' leadership, the team's previous high scores all but vanished. The records with the bat were the most eye-popping.

With an average of 4.13 throughout 15 Tests in 2022, England had the best scoring rate of any team since Australia in 1910. These numbers reflect Joe Root's tenure as captain and include a loss in a foreign stadium to the West Indies and the culmination of a long-running Ashes slide. While Stokes was captain, England scored at a match-changing 4.77 runs per over.

On the first day of the inaugural Test match between England and Pakistan, England scored 506/4, the most runs ever scored by any side on a Test match's first day. Even more impressively, they did it in only 75 overs before poor light called a halt to the game.

Additionally, five of the seven greatest strike rates belong to English players, including Stokes, among the top-order hitters (numbers one through six) who have scored at least 100 runs in Test cricket in 2022. Only the unusual cases of Rishabh Pant and Travis Head prevent a clean sweep by the English in those categories.

Earlier this week, the International Cricket Council announced that Stokes would lead the ICC's men's Test team in 2022.

His other ICC Test Cricketer of the Year Award contenders, England's Jonny Bairstow, Australia's Usman Khawaja, and South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, all joined him in the eleven he picked.

Shubman Gill chooses this superstar over both Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar

Shubman Gill was questioned in a video interview between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, and he had a hard time deciding.

This recent success of Shubman Gill bodes well for the Indian cricket squad as they prepare to host the ODI World Cup in a few months. Tuesday in Indore, the youthful opener struck 112, his fourth ODI century in 21 games. In the current 50-over format, he is averaging 73.76. With his 112 not out in the Indore game, Gill tied the record set by Pakistan captain Babar Azam for the joint-most runs (360) in a three-game ODI series. Gill has a lot of material in Test matches as well.

Shubman has posed the difficult task of choosing between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in a video interview that aired on Star Sports on Tuesday. When asked what he thought, 23-year-old Shubman responded: "My father is a major Sachin Tendulkar fan, therefore I got into cricket because of him. However, I give the nod to Virat Bhai. I was too young to appreciate cricket when he left the game. After gaining some ground in cricket knowledge, I'd have to say Virat bhai, from whom I've picked up a lot of useful information about batting."

The third one-day international saw Rohit Sharma makes his first ODI century in three years and Shubman Gill maintain his blistering form to lead India to 385 for nine. Their opening partnership of 212 runs was the highest of the match. Rohit (101 off 85 balls) reached triple digits for the first time since January 2020. Gill scored his fourth ODI century (112 off 78).

On the eve of the game, Rahul Dravid made a joke about how bowlers don't like to bowl in Indore since the circumstances favor batters. It might be argued that the batting legend is correct. While chasing, New Zealand's batsmen nevertheless had a good time, with Devon Conway scoring a thousand runs.
